We spent the weekend in Duluth on our first family vacation. Our friends over at http://thisiswhatweareupto.blogspot.com/ joined us. Highlights included a trip to the aquarium, dinner at Grandma's & caramel apples from The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We had a great time and are already planning our next weekend getaway!

The arm...
We had our first appointment at Shriner's Hospital-Twin Cities today to address Brady's arm issue. First I must say, what an awesome place this is. We felt at home the minute we walked through the clinic doors.
The official diagnosis is a transverse limb deficiency. We did a set of X-Rays and determined there is no elbow joint. Let me tell you...X-Rays on a 3 1/2 month old are not so fun, but Troy's Superman vest made it comical.
Surprisingly, they want to see us back for his first prosthetic in August. They feel the sooner he uses it the more likely he will take to it. His first arm will be a passive prosthetic-meaning it will not have a functioning elbow and hand. Eventually he will progress to a prosthetic that will be controlled mostly by his shoulder and will allow him to pick things up. The doctors thought this would happen around 18-24 months.

New Toys
We were in a rut this week so I busted out some new toys.

He has also found love for, as Ryan affectionately calls it, the Car Ba Ba.

He rolled...
Brady rolled this afternoon! Please excuse the loud, overexcited screams of encouragement in the background.
