Babysitter = Freedom

I have found a babysitter....words can not express the excitement I have over this new found freedom. Twice a week I will be able to do whatever I want for a few hours. Heaven....
In other news, Brady has renewed his love of rolling and now prefers to be on his stomach whenever possible. This morning we found him sleeping on his tummy and twice this afternoon I had to rescue a foot stuck between the rails of his crib.

First Family Vacation

We spent the weekend in Duluth on our first family vacation. Our friends over at http://thisiswhatweareupto.blogspot.com/ joined us. Highlights included a trip to the aquarium, dinner at Grandma's & caramel apples from The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We had a great time and are already planning our next weekend getaway!

Random Pics...

Diapers only play time had to be implemented due to the unseasonably warm weather.

Almost everyone who meets Brady comments on his eyes so we did a little photo shoot focusing on his face.
When he is engrossed with his toys he does this thing with his upper lip that I find totally adorable.
This has become his new favorite toy. This trend can not continue - there is only room for one crazy football fan in this house.

The arm...

We had our first appointment at Shriner's Hospital-Twin Cities today to address Brady's arm issue. First I must say, what an awesome place this is. We felt at home the minute we walked through the clinic doors.

The official diagnosis is a transverse limb deficiency. We did a set of X-Rays and determined there is no elbow joint. Let me tell you...X-Rays on a 3 1/2 month old are not so fun, but Troy's Superman vest made it comical.

Surprisingly, they want to see us back for his first prosthetic in August. They feel the sooner he uses it the more likely he will take to it. His first arm will be a passive prosthetic-meaning it will not have a functioning elbow and hand. Eventually he will progress to a prosthetic that will be controlled mostly by his shoulder and will allow him to pick things up. The doctors thought this would happen around 18-24 months.
